Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Athena Genealogy does not sell your personal information.
We have never sold personal information. However, once you accept cookies, we use the Meta Pixel (Facebook) to measure the performance of our advertising. Under California law (CCPA/CPRA), sending pseudonymous identifiers to Meta is classified as "sharing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising." Below is how you can opt out of this sharing.
How to Opt Out of Sharing With Meta
Sharing with Meta only happens if you accept cookies. You can decline or revoke at any time:
- When our cookie consent banner appears, click "Decline." The Meta Pixel will not load and no data will be transmitted to Meta.
- If you previously accepted and want to revoke: open "Cookie Settings" from the website footer, choose "Decline," and reload the page.
- For California residents who accept cookies, we automatically transmit the Limited Data Use (LDU) signal to Meta, which instructs Meta to apply CCPA-restricted processing even when consent has been granted.
Your Rights Under the CCPA/CPRA
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information. The primary opt-out mechanism for this site is the cookie consent banner described above.
In addition, you retain the following rights:
- Right to Know - Request disclosure of what personal information we have collected about you
- Right to Delete - Request deletion of your personal information
- Right to Correct - Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Right to Non-Discrimination - We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights
